Supporting Mid-Career Academics
The AHGBI is strongly committed to supporting mid-career academics and fostering their continued engagement in the life of the Association. Alongside its work with postgraduate students and early career scholars, the AHGBI recognises the vital contribution of mid-career researchers to the development of Hispanic Studies and the wider academic community.
To this end, the AHGBI promotes initiatives that highlight excellence and leadership at this career stage, including a dedicated mid-career plenary and a publication prize. These aim to recognise outstanding scholarship, encourage innovation, and support the sustained impact of mid-career academics within the discipline.
Please note
You must be a member of the AHGBI in order to apply for these awards. The Membership Secretary will accept applications at any point during the year, but will only be approved on a bi-annual basis (spring and autumn). You should aim to submit your application form at the start of the academic year to ensure that you are eligible to apply. You can still apply for awards whilst your membership is being processed, and until you have received formal confirmation of your membership being approved. In these circumstances, your application will be considered, though you will be unable to receive any award until your membership is approved.
